The Academy was launched in 2001 by John Leary Joyce who is also Director of the London Gestalt Centre. The organisation specialises in coach training for experienced executive coaches and combines theory and practice relating to advanced performance coaching, therapeutic skills and leadership development.
As well as promoting the Academy's programme, this vast site offers some interesting perspectives on the coaching field and its relationship with therapeutic methods.

The EMC has a Specialist Mentoring Library containing books, articles, case studies and videos

The National Mentoring Network has a strong educational focus. Members include schools,
colleges, universities, education business partnerships, career services, businesses, TECs,
voluntary & community groups and mentoring practitioners amongst others and is funded by
membership fees and support from business and government departments including the Department
for Education and Employment and The Home Office.
