What's the difference between the searches?
QuickSearch is the fastest way of getting results but as it relies solely on keywords it
may not be very accurate.
DetailedSearch is a more sophisticated method of searching based on a customisable
questionnaire combined with keywords.
NameSearch is only suitable when you know the first or last name of the coach or are
looking for a particular company. This is particularly useful if you have previously
performed a search and want to re-read a coach/mentor's details.

QuickSearch
How do I optimise my QuickSearch?
For best matches enter only specific words e.g. leadership sales manufacturing
face-to-face.
Avoid generic words. These include linking words such as the, and, if, but etc and
standard words, for instance industry, experience etc. The keyword search will search the
biography as well as other parts of the site and may therefore pick up on generic words
used by the majority of coach/mentors within their biographies.

How will the results be ranked?
If you enter three keywords then a coach/mentor matching all three will rank above one
matching two etc.

DetailedSearch
Can I choose multiple answers to a question?
Yes. Unless you see a round 'radio button' which denotes that you may only choose one
option, you can choose multiple answers to questions. However, the more options you choose
within a question the more difficult it may be to find an exact match. Where you
incorporate several needs into your response e.g. you respond to 'What would you like
coaching/mentoring to help you achieve?' by ticking several boxes we will not understand
your priorities and may not rank the most appropriate coach/mentor first. We therefore
recommend that you are as specific as possible.

Do I need to answer all the questions?
The more questions you answer the more accurate the result. However, it is not essential
to your search so you may leave questions blank if you wish.

Can I conduct multiple searches?
Yes - you are given the option at the end of your search to search again and you can, at
any point during your search, clear the form and start again.

What if I can't find a coach or mentor who meets my needs?
Firstly, email us
at The Coaching & Mentoring Network and we will try to help personally. We have access to a number of
coaches and mentors whose details do not appear on the site to whom we can refer you if
appropriate. We can usually find a good match! We will also, with your permission, keep
your details on file so that we can inform you by email or telephone of any new coaches
and mentors who may meet your needs. There is no charge for this service.

Hints and tips
Useful if you are trying to track down a coach or mentor if you
already know their name or company.
You need only complete one of the fields but will need to enter at least two characters
before you can proceed.
